The WoW program was located at UBC in the Department of Botany and the Michael Smith Laboratories (MSL), placing it at the centre of a tightly-knit community of plant biologists, including scientists in the Faculty of Forestry, the UBC Centre for High-Throughput Biology (CHiBi), and the Department of Biology at the University of Victoria. WoW faculty and trainees had access (and continue to have access) to both state-of-the-art research facilities and excellent support services for training.
