WoW trainees are expected to complete placements in three different labs within 18 months of joining the WoW project, and are strongly encouraged to spend at least one of these placements in a collaborating academic, industry or government lab outside of UBC (Canada, Europe, USA, Japan). This could be combined with attendance at relevant conferences and scientific meetings. Where feasible, we will try to negotiate exchanges between UBC and the collaborating institutions that allow WoW trainees and members of collaborating labs to simultaneously exchange accommodation.
